We’ve been invited into the homes of some truly special people this year. As 2017 draws to a close, we’re looking back at some of the amazing clients, memories, and spaces that made 2017 a magical year of design. From a TV star’s new family home to a retro vacation pad in Palm Springs, these are the makeovers that made our year! A special thanks to those that helped along the way, and every other design we did – we love them all!
Gray Malin’s wanderlust-inducing photography has captured the hearts and entered the homes of many. Filled with color, pattern, and art that makes you feel like you’re on vacation, his West Hollywood office space is a perfect reflection of his work. But he needed some help bringing functionality to the studio, so we came in to help balance his signature style with the necessities of a workspace. See the full makeover, here.
With a baby on the way, art therapist and yoga instructor Jessie De Lowe, who manages the popular blog How You Glow, needed a space where she could be close to her newborn. So we helped her turn a room in her Venice Beach home into a tranquil nursery/bedroom she and her husband can share with their little one. Check out the beautiful boho space, here.
E! News host Catt Sadler is known for her big personality and glamorous on-camera looks. But she needed a comfortable space to entertain at home, too. We helped bring her glam yet minimal aesthetic to the living room in her Los Angeles home with Lucite and gold accents, mid-century modern shapes, and a bold marbled wallpaper where the fireplace sits. Dollar Shave Club founder Michael Dubin’s first home was a blank canvas that needed some personality. He brought Laurel & Wolf in to create a modern space filled with classic colors, bold shapes, and sophisticated furnishings. It’s the perfect spot for a bachelor to entertain. See the full design, here.
After designing a pool house/office for Rebecca Raskind and her husband in 2016, the new mom returned to Laurel & Wolf for help designing a nursery for her baby girl. Bold statements like a whimsical floral wallpaper, a fashionable Art-Deco style rug, and other glamorous gold and blush pink elements fill the space. Feeling both sophisticated and playful, it’s a perfect room for Rebecca’s daughter to grow into. Check it out, here.
Laurel & Wolf client Hayley Antonian confirms that she made a great decision when she packed up her family and moved to the valley of Los Angeles for a home with more space. The family’s new ranch-style home sits on an acre of land and is perfect for playing with the kids and entertaining guests. We gave each space purpose and a sense of glam-eclecticism through pops of pink, soft textures, and fun accessories. Take a tour, here.
This engineering VP and his husband purchased a historical Palm Springs condo that needed a bit of renovating to bring it into the 21st century. Keeping most of the original architecture intact, we opened up the space and brought in a mid-century color palette of orange and blue as well as funky geometrics and quirky accessories from the period. But the Laurel & Wolf-designed outdoor space is the real gem of this vacation home. See the kitchen and living room here and the patio and bedroom, here.
With a growing family, actress Katie Lowes and her husband Adam Shapiro decided it was time to upsize. Overwhelmed by their larger new home, they called upon us to bring their eclectic style to the space. Overhauling two living rooms, a dining room, and the baby’s nursery, we created a stylish yet fun-filled space that stays true to the home’s traditional architecture. See it all, here.
