Own a Piece of Mad Men: Show Auctions Off Midcentury Modern Furniture

The only thing on Mad Men more attractive than Don Draper in a slim cut suit are the shapely legs and smooth curves…of the furniture. The wildly popular AMC TV show cemented a renewed love affair with the clean lines of midcentury modern decor, from polished teak bar carts to classic Eames and Wegner chairs. The show’s incredible attention to detail means that set designers had to source or recreate everything from desk clocks to shag rugs to cocktail stirrers. Now that the show is over, all that amazing loot has been sitting in warehouses just waiting for a new home.  And that new home could be yours!

From now through June 15th, auction house Screenbid is selling off furniture, costumes, set pieces and decor from Mad Men. Everything from Don Draper’s red convertible to Peggy Olson’s bar cart is up for grabs. Below, we’re highlighting some of our favorite items.

We’ve got our eye on Don & Megan’s gold chest of drawers.  What’s your dream piece?

If these chairs could talk! Don Draper’s orange and chrome office chairs would be a great pop of color in a home office or living room.

Peggy Olson’s teak bar cart would be the perfect addition to a dining room. We love this metallic trunk-style chest of drawers. It could work equally well as a coffee table or as a low dresser.

Roger Stirling’s chrome and globe lamp is a perfect statement piece.

We’d love to recover these wire barstools from Megan Draper’s Laurel Canyon house in a rich velvet or buttery brown leather.
