We’re beginning to swap our ankle boots for sandals, our jackets for dresses, and we can’t seem to stop humming “Here Comes the Sun.” Spring is beginning to show its lovely face again. As far as fashion goes, the season’s trends seem to match the upbeat vibes of the season. And as usual, interior design is following suit. From picnic-ready looks to bold, fiery hues, these are the spring fashion trends that are inspiring our spaces.

Anything Gingham Goes

If in doubt this spring, just be the picnic blanket. This goes for interiors, too. Gingham curtains, upholstery, and naturally, table cloths are big wins when it comes to bringing spring style into your space. Classic black or blue and white checks are always in vogue, but if you’re seeking a splash of color, opt for red.

Ruffles & Pink

The pink trend is not disappearing anytime soon. But it is acceptable to wear it with feminine frills like ruffles and lace, as well as mixing it up with more masculine shapes. Incorporate ruffles at home through swappable pieces like pillows and blankets.

Statement Stripes

Will the novelty of stripes ever really fade? We think not. But instead of the classic black and white or blue and white, we’re starting to see some bolder colors come into fashion. Use retro red hues and dusty shades of brown to bring some warmth and a pop of color into your space with stripes.

Khaki Cool

There was a time when beige was synonymous with boring. But all that has changed (shout out to Kim K for actively sporting the color). The trench coat is a classic, but the updated versions we’re seeing tell us to swap our traditional neutral furniture for structured pieces that modernize the shade. Pair with a selection of off-white tones in contemporary shapes to complete the look.

Shop the Look:

All-Over Florals

Florals for spring? Real groundbreaking stuff. But this season, budding blooms are going bold from the bottom up. We’re taking this as a cue to wallpaper our spaces in calico prints and to pair them with just a few floral throw pillows. You can never have too much of a good thing.

Shop the Look:

Poppy Red Pops

Reminding us of fruit punch flavored popsicles, fields blooming with poppies, and scorching beach days, this red-orange hue is hot right now. And we expect it to be even hotter this summer. If your space has mostly neutrals, try painting one piece this vibrant red shade to really make it pop.

Raffia Weaving

Raffia is not just for your vacay anymore. Bags that look like they’re meant for the beach or a picnic in the park are super in style for spring. Bring it home with a rattan chair in a mid-century modern shape or spot your space with lots of woven baskets. At this point, the more raffia and rattan, the better.
