It’s been a long, strenuous winter at work so you’ve decided to treat yourself to some of those precious vacation days. After all, you deserve a Spring Break just as much as a student, right? But where do you go in the middle of March when all the ideal destinations are crawling with inebriated college kids?

While the cerulean waters of Cabo and Cancun may sound nice, they’re standard spots for Spring Break debauchery. But it’s okay, because the world contains countless sophisticated escapes where you can sip your margarita in peace. They’ve got style, class and a number of establishments that will allow you to release your inner wild child — these are the adult Spring Break vacations you should plan now.

Negril, Jamaica

For a peaceful and affordable vacation, look to the tranquil shores of Negril, Jamaica. With its endless stretch of shoreline and all-inclusive resorts, Negril is a popular wedding destination (kill two birds with one stone if you’re doing something adult like planning a wedding). But the beachy spot also has a thriving food scene and plenty of ways to get your R&R on. Dance to reggae, indulge in Carribean food and lounge on the pool deck at Rockhouse — the perfect resort for an all-encompassing vacay.

Savannah, Georgia

If you want to keep your vacation within the United States, springtime in Savannah is an absolute treat. The weather is temperate, the trees are blossoming, and there are lots of exciting seasonal happenings. For a view into the stunning historic architecture that lines the streets, check out the Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens, where private houses are opened to the public. Wander through the parks to see azaleas in bloom and make sure to visit a bar or two — Savannah is a-ok with open containers. So yes, that means you can carry your beer out onto the street.

San Ignacio, Belize

If tropical adventure is what you crave, then head to San Ignacio, Belize. A short distance from the Carribean coast, this tranquil area is tromping with wildlife. Kayak along the Macal River, go in search of jaguars at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary and tour the mystifying nearby Mayan ruins. Or if you’re really in it for the relaxation, you can also hang back and enjoy the poolside suites at a boutique hotel like Ka’ana.

Mexico City, Mexico

Once avoided for potential crime risks, Mexico City is now officially on the map as a Spring Break escape. Luckily, its design-centric appeal tends to attract a more adult crowd than a party-craving college one. Don’t get us wrong, there are plenty of places to get your drink and dance on, but the architecture and design are really what to come for. Visit Luis Barragan’s famous pink house, Cuadra San Cristobal. Stay at an incredibly stylish yet inexpensive Airbnb or pop into a hip boutique hotel like the French neoclassical, Condesa DF.

Austin, Texas

Austin is the Texan capital of cool. Whether you’re a food lover, a music lover or a shopping lover, this Southwestern city has it all. Stay at stylish spots like the Lone Star Court, which is designed like an old motor court, or the South Congress Hotel, which embraces the city’s motto “Keep Austin weird.” Line up for delicious BBQ at the famous Franklin Barbeque. Get your shopping on in South Congress and peruse the neighborhoods to see funky homes, like this tiny house above.

Capri, Italy

You probably won’t be running into many belligerent college students on the beaches of Capri this spring. Luckily, the Amalfi Coast doesn’t exactly fall under a student’s budget. But if you’re willing to splurge for a serious vacay, then this is totally worth the price. Like something from a painting, the colorful coastal city has amazing restaurants (it’s Italy, duh), plenty of beachside drinking, and amazing hotels like the Tragara, which offers stunning 360-degree views of the coast, cliffs, and city.
